WELCOME TO LDA

We’re so pleased that you’re joining us for a trial class at Let’s Dance Academy!

We pride ourselves on being a friendly and supportive dance school. Starting somewhere new can sometimes feel a little daunting, so our team will be expecting you and will help your child feel as comfortable and welcome as possible.

BEFORE YOUR TRIAL

Please make sure you have:

Completed both the Customer and Student sections of your online registration
Paid your trial invoice before attending (if a new customer)
Told us about any medical conditions, additional needs or other information that may help us support your child

If your child requires an asthma inhaler or EpiPen, please also complete our medical form before attending.

WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?

You do not need to purchase an LDA uniform before your trial.

Please wear something comfortable that allows the teacher to see and safely correct your child’s movements.

Ballet: Leggings, shorts or a comfortable dress with a fitted T-shirt. Ballet shoes or bare feet.

Modern, Contemporary and Musical Theatre: Leggings or shorts with a fitted T-shirt and bare feet.

Tap: Leggings or shorts with a fitted T-shirt. Tap shoes if you already own some, or clean trainers.

Street Dance: Leggings or joggers with a T-shirt and clean trainers.

Acro: A leotard with shorts or leggings and bare feet. Please avoid loose clothing.

Adult classes: Comfortable clothing that allows you to move freely. Your confirmation email will explain the appropriate footwear for your class.

Long hair should be tied back, and jewellery should be removed before the class.

ARRIVING FOR YOUR CLASS

Your confirmation email will show the class, time and venue you have booked.

Please arrive approximately five minutes before the class begins so that you have time to find the correct entrance and get settled.

When you arrive, please let the teacher or a member of the LDA team know that you are attending a trial.

DURING THE CLASS

Parents will be advised where to drop off and collect their child at each venue.

For safeguarding reasons, parents are not normally able to remain inside the studio unless you are needed to support your child. Of course, we understand younger children may need a parent present until they are confident to participate independently. We kindly ask you help us transition to independent participation as soon as possible.

Please make sure that you/your child brings a clearly named bottle of water.

Nuts and chewing gum should not be brought into the venues.

If your child feels nervous, please don’t worry. Every child settles differently, and our teachers will offer plenty of encouragement and support. Please do let us know in advance if there's anything we need to be aware of to support new students.

WHAT HAPPENS AFTER THE TRIAL?

We’ll contact you after the trial to see how you/your child got on.

If the trial is successful and you would like to join, your child’s place will begin immediately and we will send you a "new starter"pack.

STAYING UP TO DATE

Once you have joined LDA, we recommend joining our Parent WhatsApp group. We use this alongside email to share reminders, opportunities, events and important school updates.
