NEXT INTAKE SEPT 2027 - CURRENT LDA STUDENTS ONLY

Thank you for your interest in our Future Dance Teachers Programme.

​

The next course will begin in September, and students must be an LDA student for the full duration of the programme.

Students will need to fully commit to the programme, which will include in-person training sessions on three Saturday late afternoons/evenings listed throughout the year, as well as committing to a weekly class assistant session. These assistant sessions will be allocated once students have signed up for the programme.

When signing up, we will ask for your child’s preferred day, time and dance genre, and we will do our very best to accommodate these preferences. However, we do ask for as much flexibility as possible, as assistant placements will depend on the timetable and the classes available.

Although the programme is geared towards dance, it is also an amazing training opportunity for future jobs, teaching roles, leadership opportunities and other ventures. It helps students build confidence, responsibility, communication skills and professionalism, making it a brilliant addition to their CV.

Course fees will be available to pay monthly after a £50 deposit has been taken. Please note that LDA has to purchase each student’s course qualification in full upfront. Therefore, once a student is enrolled onto the programme, if they choose to withdraw from the course, the remaining course balance will still be payable in full.

Last year due to a marge intake we were able to reduce the costs pp.

LEVEL 1 – INTRO TO ASSISTING
1 Year | 24/25 CPD Points
Course Cost: £250
Payment: £50 deposit, followed by 11 monthly payments

This is the starting point for all students entering the programme.

Pencilled Training Dates:
Saturday 12th September: 3:30pm–6:00pm — Intro Course
Saturday 16th January: 3:30pm–5:00pm
Saturday 1st May: 3:30pm–4:30pm

Students begin learning:

• classroom awareness

• leadership skills

• communication

• professionalism

• how to support younger dancers positively and safely

This level focuses on building confidence and introducing students to the role of an assistant within a dance school environment.

LEVEL 2 – DEVELOPING ASSISTING SKILLS
1 Year | 24/25 CPD Points
Course Cost: £275
Payment: £50 deposit, followed by 11 monthly payments

Students under the age of 14 must complete Level 2 before progressing further within the programme.

Pencilled Training Dates:
Saturday 12th September: 6:00pm–7:00pm — Intro Course
Saturday 16th January: 5:00pm–7:00pm
Saturday 1st May: 4:30pm–5:30pm

This stage is incredibly important as it allows younger students additional time to:

• develop maturity within classes

• build practical assisting experience

• strengthen communication and leadership skills

• deepen their understanding of safeguarding and responsibility

• grow in confidence before taking on more advanced training

At LDA, we strongly believe students should feel fully confident and supported at each stage of their development. Level 2 helps bridge the gap between introductory assisting and more independent leadership responsibilities.

Students continue gaining hands-on experience within classes while developing a deeper understanding of teaching environments and working with younger children.

LEVEL 3 – TEACHING & LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT
1 Year | 30 CPD Points
Course Cost: £300
Payment: £50 deposit, followed by 11 monthly payments

Students aged 14+ may progress onto Level 3 following successful completion of Level 1.

Pencilled Training Dates:
Saturday 12th September: 3:30pm–6:00pm — Intro Course
Saturday 16th January: 3:30pm–5:00pm
Saturday 1st May: 3:30pm–5:00pm

The reason students aged 14 and over can move directly to Level 3 is due to the increased maturity, responsibility and safeguarding expectations involved within the higher-level training.

At this stage, students are typically more ready to:

• take greater responsibility within classes

• support teachers more independently

• mentor younger students

• explore lesson planning and leadership skills

• further develop professionalism within a teaching environment

Some students may still choose to complete Level 2 first if they would benefit from additional assisting experience before moving onto the more advanced elements of the programme.

At LDA, progression is always based on the individual student, their confidence, readiness and personal development — not simply age alone.

BUILDING FUTURE OPPORTUNITIES

One of the things we love most about the Future Dance Teachers Programme is that it creates a genuine pathway for students who may one day wish to:

• become regular class assistants

• support holiday workshops and events

• mentor younger dancers

• explore dance teaching as a future career

• continue into further teacher training qualifications

All training courses will be held at either Wheatfields Infants or Wheatfields Junior School after our Saturday weekly timetable has finished.
